Yep I'm having a relaxing day here at the home of current host Gavin just outside Brisbane before jetting off on my travels again tomorrow (Tuesday) when I'm off to Adelaide for Xmas.
So where were we? Oh yeah - I was off to Mildura for the meeting there after the bushfires caused the cancellation of the Ash Jones Memorial meeting at Broadford. Now hopefully that'll be rearranged at some point but at least I did get to see some action that weekend - mainly of the sidecar variety at Olympic Park (must find out if the Olympics were ever staged in Mildura - I can't recall that happening!) although there was some solo action.
Alas too there were gokarts buzzing around during the meeting too! Must confess I'm not a real fan of those or Quads come to that either... er... to say the least! Rather look at a can of paint if the truth is told although I wouldn't dream of opening it and using it mind you - that would remind me too much of married life! Still when the gokart thingies came on track, we hit the Bundy as you'd expect! Had to keep drinking as it was a tad warm that night.
After an overnight stop it was up at the crack of dawn on Sunday (anytime before noon on a Sunday is the crack of dawn for me!) and the trip home to Melbourne. Thankfully my host in those neck of the woods, Sir Lunchalot of the British Speedway Form fame, is a pretty understanding guy and stopped the car at regular intervals so that I could top up my nicotine levels!
Anyway after a relaxing day, many more Bundies and much hasty packing on Tuesday... I'm a 'bung it in the holdall type merchant not all this folding up neatly mullarkey' - it was on the plane for Brisbane once again....
